You are between the ages of 16 and 36, and hold British citizenship. No specific educational qualifications are required for this role but you will be comfortable with both English and Maths. A good eye for detail and a thorough and organised approach to work will get you off to a sound start. This role is available within both the surface and submarine flotillas. In the surface flotilla, you could work either at sea in a frigate, destroyer, assault ship, or aircraft carrier or at one of the shore establishments located around the UK. In the submarine flotilla, sea employment is in submarines - additional pay is given across a range of to those who qualify to serve in submarines.

This role is centred around administration and accounting, providing a range of personnel services to the ships company. In common with all positions at sea, additional duties are taken up in states of heightened operational readiness, and involve recording and communicating information to help the battle damage-control team fight fires and floods.
