You need to be a certified mechanic. After completing training, you will typically start your career offshore in a position as Floorhand or Roustabout, before progressing to Rig Floor Mechanic.

About: Rig Floor Mechanic

The Rig Floor Mechanic supervises the drilling equipment on board and carries out the necessary maintenance work on the equipment. Additionally, the Rig Floor Mechanic assists with on the job training of Floorhands and Roustabouts regarding maintenance work on hydraulic and other drilling equipment.
