Become: Steward or Stewardess - Superyacht

If you have a strong work ethic, a cheerful personality and always aim for the highest of standards in all that you do, this could be for you. You are both front of house and behind the scenes, ensuring seamless and professional 5* service afloat. Demanding yet hugely rewarding for the enthusiastic and hard-working professional. Sound like you fit the mould?
A number of providers around the UK provide the necessary foundation training to embark on Superyacht Interior Training - a term used to embrace both stewarding and chef skills. No specific experience is required as a pre-requisite, but Foundation training generally covers Core Skills, Hospitality Skills, Practical Sailing and Superyacht Cookery Foundation. As with all training for sea-going employment, essential STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) is a mandatory element. There is a buoyant market for calibre staff and foundation training is designed to set the student firmly on the path towards the standard of service to which 5 star hotels aspire. As experience is gained, more advanced training options are available to further assist in career progression. Fancy high quality British based training but in the sunshine? Take a look at Bluewater Yachting (The Crew Training Centre). Their Crew Training Manual, in addition to comprehensive guidance on specific careers within the industry, also has good practical advice about how to go about getting that all important first job.
