In order to hold this position, you must have the following:
Marine engineer STCW III/2, or alternatively certified mechanic with Subsea experience Well Control certificate, Supervisor Level, Combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack, issued by an institution approved by IWCF.
About: Assistant Subsea Engineer
The Assistant Subsea Engineer assists in the maintenance and operation of the Subsea Blow-out Preventer (BOP) and related equipment, as well as all heave compensating equipment.
You typically start your offshore career in the maintenance department as a Mechanic or similar. Once you have a couple of years experience on a deepwater drilling unit, you can apply for our SWAT Subsea Trainee Programme – see acceleration programmes to receive the necessary training.
