A career at sea and in the air - the Fleet Air Arm! You will be aged 17 to 23, hold British citizenship and have A Level or equivalent educational qualifications totalling 180 UCAS points or more. You are calm, confident and decisive under pressure and have both the mental and physical stamina together with the commitment to take the long and demanding training in your stride. The starting salary for a school leaver is £15268, rising to £24132 on passing out of Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth and offers the option of a Foundation Degree around your core naval training. This role is also open to graduates; the range of acceptable degrees is wide and the starting salary is £29006. You are also required to pass flying aptitude tests. After successful completion of aviation training, Flying Pay is also earned.

As a Fleet Air Arm helicopter pilot, you'll drop Royal marines Commandos and their gear into action, carry out surveillance and anti-submarine operations and fly reconnaissance missions over land and sea. If fast jets are for you, you'll be our front line strike force, operating from the soon to be introduced Queen Elizabeth class Aircraft carriers and from shore bases.
